I was in shock. I pulled over to help the guy because I saw a Ferrari pulled over on the side of the road, and I was like "hey, maybe I could get a ride in his car if I help him get some gas or whatever" (my car is the little MR2 Spyder parked in front of the firetruck). The car started smoking a little and a tiny amount of flame was visible, so I called the fire dept. while passers by started dumping water bottles on the engine. By the time the dept. got there (which was actually really fast) the car was completely engulfed. I felt so bad for the owner: he was coming back from getting the car detailed when this happened, and he was going to sell the car the next day. He had to call the buyer who was going to pick up the car the next day and tell him what happened.

That's so sad! I wonder if he was gonna get more money for the car or what he got from insurance. It doesn't matter, it would've been happier if it lived. I think I may have cried if I was the owner...

He wasn't really sad, just distraught. Partially because he just lost his car, and partially because he was trying to figure out why it happened. He was theorizing that the person who detailed the car may have accidentally loosened the fuel line

I don't really get sad watching FF's or Murci's or 458's or whatever burn but this 308 made me soooooooooo sad. It's my 3rd favorite Ferrari, and the only one that is feasibly obtainable (I don't want a Mondial) for me. If It were mine I would have been frantically trying to put it out and then just sitting in shock as I watched my love burn. I feel so bad for the owner but, as he had it insured, worse for the buyer, who thought they were getting a Ferrari the next day.
